NEW BRANCH FORMED.
N.Z. EDUCATION INSTITUTE. OFFICERS AT ROTORUA. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, this day. The first meeting of the recently formed Rotorua branch of the New Zealand Education Institute was largely attended by teachers from all parts of the district and from as far afield as Taupo and Mokai. The gathering was addressed by Messrs. G. Robertson and H. members of the inspectorate. The election of officer* resulted: President, Mr. C. A. McKinney (Rotorua); vice-president, Mr. J. MeCowan (Whakarewarewa); secretary and treasurer, Mr. L. H. Joblin (Rotorua); committee, Messrs. G. Grahame (Waitahanui), P. S. Osborne (Horohoro), T. A. Carnachan (Broadlands), S. G. Christensen (Taupo), P. Heath (Mamaku), M. Madgewick (Kaharoa). Misses H. Hillcoat and M. James (Rotorua). Mr. Robertson, on behalf of the institute, congratulated the teachers of the Rotorua district on forming a branch in this area, and wished it success in its activities.
