DAIRY PRODUCE PRICES.
RITUXI TO rACTORIZS. (Bjr Telegraph — Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. In an urgent question addressed to the Minister of Marketing, Mr. Nafch, in the House of Representatives to-day Mr. W. J. Broadfoot (National, Waitomo) suggested that the Government should make up the difference to the dairy farmer in the event of the London wholesale price of butter exceeding that fixed for butter supplied to the local market. "At present," said Mr. Bror.dfoot, "the internal price fixed by tlie Internal Marketing Department m:ans a loss of more than threepence a pound for all butter sold locally." "Dairy factories supplying the local market with butter and chee«e are placed on exactly the name basis a* dairy factories supplying the overseas market," said Mr. Xash. "The policy is eo organised as to ensure equal payout to dairy factories supplying like grades of butter and cheese."
