SHUNTING DANGERS.

HARBOUR BOARD CONCERN. Concern at the action of railway shunters in operating near the bottom of Queen Street shortly after 5 o'clock in the evening, when harbour travellers were anxious to catch their ferries, was expressed by Mr. H. R. Mackenzie to the Auckland Harbour Board yesterday. He instanced a recent occasion, on which some hundreds of people had been so delayed, and referred to the dangerous actions of young men and women, who clambered over the couplings in their efforts not to miss their ferries. The board agreed to place the question before the Railways Department and the City Council.
