TE AWAMUTU TRACK.
A SMART SPRINT. LADY MEATH AXD MAXOWN. (By Telegraph. —Special to "Star.") TE AWAMUTU, this day. The course proper, with the flu,;* out 20ft, was available for fast work this morning, but owing to the hard nature of the going it was not in much demand, practically all galloping being done the reverse way on the inner plough, which provided excellent going and times wore recorded. The ouly gallop done on the course proper was that of Te Tero, who sprinted two furlongs in 26e. He could have done much better. On the plough, Torch completed his work by sprinting two furlongs in 24 2-se. Lady Meath and Maxown were associated over four furlongs, taking 49 3-ss. They were together, at the end, Clooneen and barricade taking 525. The latter pair could have improved their time. Loombiiiiition was sent three furlongs, but was timed only over the last two. which took 24 4-ss. He was also worked two rounds at, good half-pace. Suleman took 25s for his two furlongs. He was under a pull. Hutana occupied 37 l-5s for his three furlongs. Lady Diana and Galilee worked separately over a round, but were not after time. Others to do pacework were:—Celtic Lad, Dombey, Illuminagh, Chevnl de Volee, Muskon. Fleur tfOr, Orate, Rulette, Oration, Cape Maria and Gay Hussar. On the hurdle grass First Flutter came home over two furlongs in 26 l-ss. R. Home will ride Miss Te Koura, Mungacre and Kena at Rotorua.
