Women jurors made legal history by rrt'u.sitifr to serve in a case of indecency at Paisley, Scotland.
Sheriff Hamilton, on the Bench, said: "A considerable number of years apo women made what I venture to describe as a great fuss for the very purpose of being allowed to do this sort of thinj» and not beinjr set aside from this sort of work as if there was a distinction in the intelligence of men and women.
'•By refusing now to do what 20 years ago they were so anxious to do we are left in the position of being unable to try this man. Witnesses and counsel will have to come back."
The case was adjourned for a new jury.
