ELDERLY WOMAN'S DEATH. TKIPPKD BY DCMiS CHAIN". (From Our Correspondent.) XKW PLYMOUTH, Monday. Ah the result of tripping over a do;» chain. Miss Klizabeth Jane Seandlyn, ajfed 77. one of Inglewood's oldest residents, suffered injuries from which she died. A doctor was not eel'ed, but an examination after death revi aled that Miss Keandlyn had a fractured hip and severe bruises. Miss Scandlyn and her stepsister* Miws L. Lambert, occupied a farm, and themnelven did all the farm work. When Miss Scandlyn released a do.'.' from its chain, it frisked about excitedly, and Miss Kcandlyn was thrown to the ground. Miss Scandlyn was born in Xew Plymouth in 1800, ami Iβ years later went to with her stepfather, a former Imperial Army man, who saw service in the liidUui Mutiny. Crimea, China and Maori* Wars. H<- died l<! years and the stepsisters had occupied the farm since.
