OFFICIAL ATTENDANCE.
EXCEEDS 58,000 PEOPLE. While the exact attendance at Eden Park on Saturday has not yet been computed, it was stated officially to-day that the crowd was not less than 58,000, which figure constitutes a new record for attendance at a sporting fixture in the Dominion. The previous record crowd (4o,2o0) assembled for the third Test against the tourins British team at Eden Park in 1930. Official figures for Saturday's gate and grandstand takings were also unavailable, as banks were closed to-day in celebration of Dominion Dav.
