GREEK CREW'S STORY. Ship Taken and Sailors Held Prisoners. SPANISH REBEL ACTION. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 1 p.m.) GIBRALTAR, August 24. Seventeen officers and crew of the Greek steamer Nagos (1926 tons) on arrival from Ceuta, state that insurgent warships eight weeks ago captured the ship in the Mediterranean, imprisoned the crew at Ceuta, unloaded the cargo elsewhere and kept the ship. The captain was taken to San Fernando, and is still detained. 1 lie crew, during imprisonment, had only a loaf of bread and a quart of water each, daily.
SWEEPING ADVANCE. Insurgents Progress Towards Santander. CAPTURE EXPECTED SOON. (Received 11 a.m.) ! SALAMAXCA, August 24. Insurgents claim to have captured a large number of villages in continuation of their sweeping advance on the Santander front. Rebel airmen report that Santander is wide o|>en and columns of guns are pouring out. It 'should l.e possible to enter it in two or three days. Deserters reported the closing of all shops in Santander with a view to general mobilisation.
