The Cnion Company's steamer Maunganui arrived from her Island cruise at 5.30 a.m. to-day and bertlnd at the ljueen'ri wharf- She left Auckland on August 3. and has visited Nukualofa. Papeete. Morea. Bora Bora. Apia and Vavau, with a. second call at Nukualofa. Fine weather was experienced until nearing port yesterday. She leaves for Wellington at 0 p.m. on another Island cruise, leaving Wellington on Friday for Nukualofa, Vavau, Apia. Levuka, Kadavir and Suva. The L nion Companv'ri motor vessel Matua will arrive on Friday morning from the Cook Inlands with a cargo of fruit and leaves for Wellington on survey the <-ame evening. The O.S.K. Line'* motor ship, Sydney Maru, will arrive from main Japanese ports, via Sydney anil Melbourne. early on Friday morning. She will ateo load and discharge at Wellington. Lvttelton and Dunedin. sailing from Dunedin on September 4 on her return to Japan.
