PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP; HOLDS WORTH WINS SECOND ROUND. - The second round of the Auckland provincial amateur billiards championship for the Billiards, Ltd., Shield was played last evening at' Messrs'. Billiards, Ltd.'s, showrooms, when C. Wilson, of -Matamata, played L. F. W. Holdsworth. Both players, quickly settled down. Holdswortli made runs of 29 and 24, Wilson retaliating with breaks of 20 and; 47. The. latter s gained, a slight advantage at the hundred mark. • Holdsworth played consistently at his next few visite to the ; table and • runs of _ 3-1, 21. ar-u 40 resulted:. He led by 70 points at the half-way mark; Wilson, who Was pLiving a gcod uphillgame, made further Tuns of 21 andy2Q. Holdsworth, however, continued to : score. freely? ; and ran to points.
