AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
PAPAKURA ANNUAL MEETING. The Papakura Amateur; ' Athletic and Cycling Club held its annual meeting in the parish hall last evening. Mr. Frank Osborne presided. The report stated that during the past season the 1 membership rose from 20 to 70, and the. treasurer reported a balance of £23 for the six weeks the club was in existence last year. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. H. E. McEntee; president, Mr. F. Osborne; treasurer, Mr. J. W. D. Jack; secretary, Mr. R. Cooper; committee, Messrs. J. Smith, J. Markham, A. Schwartfeger, W. Galloway, R. Goyle, W. Landman ; starter, Mr. J. Markham; timekeeper, Mr. P. J. Johns; club captain, Mr. W. K. Francis, jun.; handicappers, Messrs.. V. Ashby- and G. Hv 'Wilson; announcer, Mr. E. Searle; judges, .Messrs. J. Rush ton, G. "F. McDonald, A. McVeigh, J. Smith; auditor, Mr. J. Beams: delegates vto the Auckland Centre, Messrs. H. C. v Baulf (athletics), and F. J. Johns (cycling).
