MAYORAL REGALIA.
MOUNT EDEN BOROUGH. Last year the Mount Eden Borough Council decided to order a suitable regalia to be worn by the Mayor of the borough while occupying the Mayoral chair. The regalia, a chain of office, is a i ibbon, attached to which are nine handsome medallions. It was handed to the present Mayor, Mr. T. McXab, at last night's meeting of the council. The Mayoral history of° the borough is shown on six of the medallions. The first Mayor was Mr. Oliver Nicholson, 190G-1918.* Then followed Mr. Charles Hudson, 1918-1920; Mr. J W Sliackleford, 1920-1923; Rev. J. L. A. Kayll, 1923; Mr. E. Potter, 1923-1931; Mr. T. McXab, 1931.
