TURNED OFF THE RADIO.

WIFE THRASHED BY HUSBAND JOHANNESBURG, July 10. For turning off the wireless in her home, a Benoni woman was severely thrashed by her husband. She became slightly deaf as a result of the thrashing. The husband, Thomas H. Jordaan, it was stated, was drunk and began playing a gramophone and at the same time turned his wireless on at full blast. The din was too much for his wife, who stopped the wireless by disconnecting the aerial. This infuriated Jordaan, who struck his wife about the liead. He was fined £10, or one month.
