TRAINS ON MONDAY.
REPAIR WORK IN HAND.
NEW SLIP AT WOODCOCKS.
It is not expected that trains to the North will resume normal schedules until Monday. Although the flood waters covering the main line to Whangarei at Wayby and Hoteo have now subsided, there are still several slips and washouts to be repaired at various joints On the track. The main trouble is at a j>oint north *>f Waiotira Junction, and this is now 'in the course of repair. The slip at .Portland has been cleared, but there is a fairly extensive new slip at Woodcocks, one station before Kaipara Flats. On Monday it is hoped that trains from Auckland will be able to proceed as iar north as Motatau. Further than that the position is uncertain. Trains to-day Again ran only as far as Kaukapakapa.? This morning the telephone system in the Hoteo district was repaired, thu* completing the re-establishment of normal communication between Auckland and Whangarei.
