LICENSEE'S GUESTS.
SUPPLIED WITH LIQUOR. ' ' CASE TAKEN TO APPEAL, c* / ' 1; (By Telegraph.—ri-ess Association.) •; WELLINGTON, this dayf'' The question of a hotel licensee's bona fide guests being on premises durin« r> To ' hibited hours and incidentally suppljj with liquor was further argued yester day in the Appeal Court, in the casa of William Mackenzie v. William John Harper. Mr. C. H. Taylor, of Wellington fo» respondent, submitted that a licensee'i wife was in the same position as a set vant with regard to the supply 0 f liq UO r after hours, and authorities showed that a servant was not entitled to supply hi, guests after hours on licensed premises. Further, if the Court should take the view that the position of the licensee*! wife was the same as that of a lodger on the premises, and that she had the common right of law to entertain her guegtg on the premises, then it was contended that a lodger commits an offence if ha supplies guests with liquor during closed hours. 0 Judgment was reserved.
