LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
THE SECOND ROUND.
RICHMOND V. NIT. ALBERT.
CARLAW PARK FIXTURES,
After a spell of two weeks, firstly owing to Curlaw Park being made available for the second Soccer Test and last Saturday owing to the adverse weather, ■ the Auckland Eugby League's senior championship will be continued to-morrow. The first series of matches in the second round will be decided and in the main game of the day Richmond, the championwhip leaders; will meet Mount Albert, who are only two points behind them. Although the ground will bo heavy after the rain' throughout the week, the game should bo productive of fast and open play from bell to bell. There should be a great tussle between the forwards and the side which is better served from the scrums and can press home advantages thus given should carry the day. Richmond on form must take the field as favourites, but it is quite on the cards that Mount Albert, which has settled down into a solid combination, will carry the day. Manukau and North Shore will figure in the curtain-raiser and another keen contest is anticipated. Manukau with recent additions is a powerful combinations and their weight and speed may prove too much for the bustling Shore thirteen. In the late game on No. 2 ground Ponsonby, strengthened 'by the inelusion of Pickrang, . the New Zealand representative forward, and Cootc, a former country forward, will play City,
and ii rujjßcd battle for honours should result. In the curtain-rawer Marist should not be troubled to win from Newton. Lower grade competitions will be continued. Competition table:— Points. Ch.
