NAVIGATION RESTRICTIONS

To facilitate the arrival of the PanAmerican Airways Clipper and ensure her safety while at the mooring, the Auckland Harbour Board has made special arrangements, prohibiting navigation in a specified area contiguous to the King's wharf.

An official notice published to-day states that during the period of two hours prior to the arrival of the Clipper all navigation will be prohibited within the area immediately to the eastward of the King's wharf, hounded on the western side by the King's wharf, on the southern side by the breastwork from King's wharf fo the eastern vehicular l.lnding; thence on the eastern side by a line 16 degrees 1300 ft, thence on the northern side by a line to the northeast corner of the Kitur's wharf.

It is also officially notified that after the Clipper, has landed, and while taxiing np the harbour to moorings, all craft are to keep well clear of the course. While the flying boat is. at her mooring buoy all vessels will be prohibited from navigating within 300 ft of the buov.

The arrangements made for night illumination are that whilst the Clipper is at anchor she will exhibit forward, and centrally where it can best be seen, a red light vertically above a white light. The light* will be visible all round the horizan for a distance of at least one mile.

The area in which navigation will be prohibited will not be marked oft* in any way, but it is pointed out that it will l>e within a line running from the eastern vehicular landing to the eastern corner of King's wharf.
