BRITISH BY-ELECTION. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 22. The by-election for the English Universities, due to Sir Reginald Cradock's death, resulted:— Mr. T. E. Harvey (Ind. Progressive) 6596 Sir Francis Lindley (Nat. Con.) . 4954 Sir Henry Brackenbury (Ind.) ... 2373 Sir R. Cradock was a Conservative member and was returned unopposed at last election. Another by-election is rendered necessary owing to the resignation of Mr. Philip Dunne, Conservative member for the Stalybridge and Hyde division of Cheshire.
