MUMMY MYSTERY.
BODY IN VIOUX CABS.
Opening a violin case, which, withi other baggage, had been left in payment 1 of an hotel debt, the proprietor of a Paris hotel was astonished to find inside the mummified body of a boy between 14 and 15 years old.
» The luggage was that of a mysterious Russian refugee, who vanished from the] hotel recently; the proprietor nexti received a letter from America, saying! that he could not pay his bill and that he must take the 'luggage" in lieu of payment. No trace has yet been found of the refugee by the Paris police, who set inquiries on foot, although doctors have declared that the death of the boy must have taken place 20 years ago. ( The body, says the "Daily Sketch" Paris correspondent, , was miraculously preserved; it had evidently been embalmed by a skilful hand, and lips and hair retained their natural colour.
The police so far are baffled as to the mystery man's reason in carrying the body around in his violin case, with which he was frequently seen.
