The North Shore Amateur Swimming and Life Saving Club's carnival will be held at the Tepid Baths this evening, when the 440 yards men's championship of Auckland will be decided. The one mile championship of the Auckland Swimming Centre will be competed for at the Auckland Tepid Baths at 1 p.m. tomorrow.
MOUNT EDEN TEAM.
The following team will represent the Mount Eden Swimming Club in the 800 yards inter-club relay race for the Lowe Memorial Shield at the North Shore Club's carnival to-night: R. B. Frankham, P. Hanan, W. Johnston, B. O'Connor, A. C. Bugiiiill, G. Smith, K. White, L. Jackson, A. Wuite.
CARNIVALS AT EASTER.
New Zealand's most outstanding swimmers, all of whom have strong prospects of qualifying for the Empire Games next season, will be participating in special invitation scratch races at the Tepid Baths on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday nights. Interest has been enlivened by the fact that the contests will be for the distances swum at the Empire Games. The southern swimmers competing will include K. Simon and 11. P. Lindsay, of Manawatu. Miss S. Gotlieb and F. Pennington, of Wellington, Miss P. Watts, of Wanganui and P. E. Mathicson and Misses I. Purdie and W. Dunn, of Otago. Thrilling finishes should result between Simon, who is a Maori, and P. Hanan and R. B. Frankham in the mens free style sprint contests. Ihere should also be stirring competition when Misses Purdie, Gotlieb and Watts, who have splendid records, race the Auckland lady champions. Mathicson, holder of the national backstroke records, will be opposed by the best exponents of this stroke in Auckland.
