WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.
WHITFORD. At the annual meeting of the Wb.Uford Institute the following committee was elected:—President, Mrs. Wiles; vice-president, Mrs. Drumm ;•.committee, Mesdames Booker. Gilfillan, Gilbertson, F. Granger, Kelling, Rayner, X. Wade, Miss Rayner. The competition was won by Mrs. Granger. The afternoon tea hostesses were: Mesdames Booker, Bil-1 lington, Cope, Colthurst, Clausen, Drumm. TE ATATU. The monthly meeting, of the Te Atatu Institute was held in the Te Atatu Hall | Officers elected for the year were — President, Mrs. Gill; secretary, Mre Harrison; treasurer, Mrs. Illingnorth; committee, Mesdames Blennerhasset, Moor, Johnstone, Sullivan, Fitzsimmonds, niingnorth, Harrison. Mrs Gill gave a talk on the aims and objects of women's institutes. MANGAWEKA. The March meeting marked th» beginning of the fifth year of the Mangaweka Institute. There was a good attendance. The reading for this month was by Mrs. Billinghurst, jun. Members learned with regret of the impending departure of Mrs. Monk, a member of long standing. A bell which belonged to a late member, Mrs. Burns, was donated to the institute by Mrs. C'-ow-Lher. The general election results are as follows:—Comm'*tee. Mesdames Billinghurst, Davies, Sutherland, GLmnne, I Ince, Lewis, Moyle, Mac Lean. Ollanam, ' and Misses Ev Crawford, M. a'ul I. Dickinson. Mrs. Ginnane was re-e.ected president, and thanked the secretaiv and ! treasurer, Miss E. Crawford and" Mrs. I Williams, members of the old committee, •Hid all others who had helped throughout the year.,
