BAKERS CONFER.

IMPORTANT GATHERINGS,

A gathering of great importance to bakers will take place next Tuesday, when the annual meetings of the Auckland Master Bakers' Association, the N.Z. Master Bakers' Mutual Indemnity Association and the N.Z. Master Bakers' Exhibition Association will be held at the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. A large number of representatives is expected to be present from all parts of the province. A contest in bread-making will be held in conjunction with the meetings. Each entrant will make a 41b raised tin loaf, which will be judged by the Government travelling expert baker, Mr. A. Hansen. Besides judging, he will discuss the loaves and bread-making in general. The contest is expected to prove instructive to bakers, since it is being held to assist them to improve their article. A dinner will be held in the evening.
