HARBOUR WORK LOAN.

DECISION AT WAKGAJfTTL *(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WANGANUI, Thursday. At a special meeting of the Wanganui Harbour Board yesterday it was decided to adopt a suggestion made by the Government to raise without a poll of ratepayers a sum not exceeding £15,000 to complete the work of building up the moles at the river mouth.

A letter from the Prime Minister indicated that the Government was not in favour of the £15,000 loan authorised for the payment of a long-standing debt to the British Admiralty for bringing the dredge Kaione to New Zealand being 'diverted, as was proposed by the board.
