CORDIAL WORKERS.
HOURS REFERRED TO COURT.
DRUG AWARD UNSETTLED. \ Wages of £4 4/ a week, with a 44hour week in the summer and a 36-hour week in the winter were the main issues decided when the dispute between aerated waters workers and their employers came ljefore Mr. R. E. Price in Conciliation Council to-day. Wages for youths will commence at 15/ per week, rising to an ultimate £3 16/. The wage for adults shows an improvement on that fixed in the Wellington award. Cordial workers, who aleo come within the scope of the award, are to receive £4 12/ li, and working foremen £5. The ordinary overtime and machinery clauses were agreed upon, but the question of holidays was deferred for further consideration. At previous meetings in November it was agreed to make two awards in the trade, one for aerated waters workers, and another for drug and condiment workers. The hearing for the latter award was adjourned until the afternoon. For the employers the assessors were Messrs. W. E. Anderson, secretary of the Employers' Association, A. Menzies and B. Stevenson. The workers' representatives were the Hon. B. Martin, Messrs. I R. Colquhoun and C. Bailey and Mrs A. B. Martin. * ';
