A GREAT DOUBLE.

FRIENDLY SOCIETY CONTESTS.

SKINNER 105 NOT OUT, 6 WICKETS

The brilliant all-round form of L. Skinner overshadowed everything when the second round of matches under the auspices of the United Friendly Societies was advanced a further stage on Saturday at Fowlds Park, Morningside. Skinner's performance was probably the best of the season. He started the afternoon's work by d'smissing six batsmen for 19 runs, four of Vrs victims falling with five balls, and incidentally he performed the hattrick. Going in first wicket down, he knocked the Eden-Auckland bowling to all of the field and after an hour's exhilarating hitting he compiled an unbeaten 105. His boundary shots included three sixes and 15 fours. In the second innings he claimed four wickets -ft>r the cost of 34 runs. One must consider the wicket conditions to explain the miserable showing made by Manchester, who were all out for 28. In the second innings, after a good start, they d : d little better to total 50. Doyle, for the Hibern ; an«. bagged ten wickets dnring the match for 13 runs. His score of 34 included a couple of sixes. Results and scores:—EDEX ACCKI-ANH V. GREY LYNN DBl'inS.
