THIEVES' JEWEL HAUL.
MONTE CARLO HOTEL CRIME. MONTE CARLO, January 4. Thieves stole £2000 worth of jewellery from the hotel bedroom of Miss Jean Hackett, aged 27, daughter of the late Sir Winthrop Hackett, formerly of Australia. Miss Hackett's bedroom door was forced during dinner and a leather suitcase containing the jewellery was ripped open.
