PERSONAL.
1 The Rev. D. D. Scott, of Klianclallali, formerly minister of the Oneliungd Presbyterian Church, is visiting Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Lowrv, well-known residents of Hawke's Bay. are visiting Auckland and are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Rutherford; of Inverness, North Canterbury, are in Auckland and are guests at the Grand Hotel. Mr. T. A. Blyth, headmaster of. the Ohakune District High School, recently made his 130tli ascent to the summit of Ruapehu. This is believed to be easily a record. Mr. A. J. Ryan, Wanganui East, who has been employed as draftsman by the Public Works Department, Tauranga, for the past 12 months, has been transferred to Rotorua. Mr. W. Mcßryde, assistant land registrar, Napier, has been transferred to the position of Land Registrar at Blenheim. Mr. Mcßryde was previously in charge of the Native Affairs Department at Samoa for three years. Mr. G. R. Aslibridge, i secretary of the New Zealand Educational Institute, lias been awarded a travelling scholarship in education by t'he Carnegie .Corporation of New York to enable him to study educational administration abroad, states a Press Association message from Wellington. It is Mr. Ashbridge's intention to attend classes at the University of London Institute of Education, and the Columbia University, New York. He will also include in liis investigation teacher, organisations in France, Germany, Russia and Canada. He expects to be absent about a year.
