The New Zealand Swimming Association has invited Evelyn de Lacy, 220, 440 and 880 yds free-style Australian swimming champion, and one middledistance male swimmer with an Australian title, to tour the Dominion. The secretary of the Amateur Swimming Union of Australia, Sir. Sheedy, said the male swimmer would be chosen after the Australian championships, and he mentioned R. Biddulph as a probable choice. SHEFFIELD SHIELD. CENTURY BY RIGG. (Received 11 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. In the Sheffield Shield match against New South Wales, Victoria made 315 runs for seven wickets in the first innings—Rigg 100, Hassett 83, Ledward 60. At Adelaide South Australia made 285 for eight wickets against Queensland — Hammence 104.
