MANY TRAVELLERS.

AWATEA FROM SYDNEY.

With close on 400 passengers, the Union Company's express passenger liner Awatea arrived from Sydney shortly after 10 o'clock this morning, and sails on her return at 5 o'clock this evening. Except for one day, the first day out, the vessel had a good weather passage.

In order to facilitate Customs formalities, the Customs launch travelled about eight miles down the harbour to meet the vessel, and by the time she had berthed all passengers had been through.

On her next trip, the Awatea will arrive at Sydney on December 18 and will leave the same day for Wellington where she is due on December 21, with another large passenegr list of New Zealanders returning home for Christmas.
