AUCKLAND SESSION.

MR. FRASER'S MOVEMENTS.

IMPORTANT deputations,

The Minister of Education, the Hon. P. Fraser, arrived from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. He has a busy programme in Auckland, and will return to Wellington by train on Thursday evening. He will spend the Christmas holidays in the South Island.

Mr. Fraser received private deputations this morning, and in the afternoon attended an educational conference at the Town PTall regarding the provision of suitable sites for postprimary and university education. The Director of Education, Mr. N. T. Lambourne, who travelled from Wellington with the Minister, also attended the conference.

The Minister will receive separate deputations this evening from the Society for the Protection of Women and Children and the Auckland Maternal Welfare Society regarding maternity services. Dr. M. H. Watt, DirectorGeneral of Health, and Dr. T. L. Paget, Inspector of Private Hospitals, will be present.

In company with Mr. Lambourne, Mr. Fraser will visit the New Zealand Institute for the Blind, Parnell, to-morrow morning. He will inspect the ground improvements at the Auckland Training College in the afternoon, and, it is expected, will visit later, with Mr. A. G. Osborne, M.P. for Manukau, the Mount Wellington and Pamnure districts. In the evening he will be the guest of the Auckland Labour Club. The opening by the Minister of the 4 Mount Roskiil School to-morrow afternoon has been cancelled on account of all schools being closed as a precautionary health measure.

The Kingseat Mental Hospital will be visjted by Mr. Eraser on Thursday morning. He will meet the League of Health and the Auckland Boys' Employment Committee in the afternoon.

On account of his busy session in Auckland, Mr. Eraser's visit to Paeroa 011 Friday has been cancelled.
