INCREASE IN NUMBERS.

A steady rise in the roll number, and especially in the number of young pupils entering the school, was reported bv Miss E. R. Edwards, headmistress ot the Diocesan High Schrol, in her annual report, which was presented at- the college to-day.
Of 12 entrants tir the unive'sity entrance and school certificate examinations, stated Miss Edwards, pll except one passed, and the candidate; had re-1 ceivcd much higher marks than did those of previous years. Closi attention had been paid to physi-M 1 . educut in, with gratifying results, while the music and singing classes wore also sati-factoiy. From the proceeds of two plays presented by the school a lantern capable of showing either slides or films had been bought and a library of slides had been commenced. Lady Mitclielson had announced her intention of presenting a bell to the school, in memory of the late Sir Edwin Mitclielson, who was founder chairman.
