TOURNEYS IN AUCKLAND.

KING'S BIRTHDAY GAMES,

Bowling tournaments were held on several greens in Auckland yesterday, when ideal conditions prevailed. A full-rink tournament was held by the Onchuiiga Club. 14 teams competing. "Section A was won by Farrell, Bell, Ilarlock, Cricliton, with o wins.

McMaster, Gilmorc. I'urridge. Harrison and Adams, Urc. 11. Bray, Taplin tied in section 1! with 4 wins each, Taplin winning the play-off.

The filial between Taplin and Cricliton will be played on Saturday morning.

Result of progressive pairs tourney played yestrrday on tlx! Remuera Bowling Club's green:—l.eads : Walker. 5 wins; runners-lip. Evans. Tudliope, Goosnian, 4 wins. Skips: Smith. 4 wins.

A club tournament played yesterday on tlie Epsom Bowling Club's green resulted: McCowan. Wilson, 4 wins, 1 loss; Hooper, Furnell, Iluclian. 3 wins, 2 losses; Bruce, McDougiWl, Kelly, "2 wins. 3 losses; Scott, Richmond, 1 win, 4 losses.

In the filial Flynn, Dnnningliam, Grahaine McCowan beat Bennett. Drumniond, Fisher, Wilson l>v 14 points to 10.

A full-rink tournament was held on the Te Papapa Club's grten. 10 teams competing. Section A was won by Hammond's rink, with 5 wins, while section B was won by MePlierson's rink, also with 5 wins. Tlie final resulted in a win for McG'iffan. R. Hammond. Kirby. A. Hammond. who defeated Hull. Todd, Crisp, McPherson by 11 points to 2.

The' Papakura Bowling Club played progressive pairs on the King's Birthday. The winning skip was V. Ashliy, while, for the winning lead. S. Evans and J. Jeffrey tied.

The Whangarci Bowling Chili's King's Birthday tournament resulted in an allPortland final. Williams and Cox were tlie contestants. Williams won by a single point in a game of live heads.

IN THE COUNTRY.

A full-rink tournament was played on the Pukekolie Bowling Club's green yesterday. 12 rinks taking part. An interval was observed at U. 30 p.m.. the bowlers adjourning to the post office to hear the proclamation of the accession of King George VI.

The winners of the tourney were \V Xeal, J. Blakf. G. McPherson, \V. Short who defeated live other rinks.

Although winning live out of the eight games played the Cambridge Bowling Club was defeated when a visit was received from the Matamata Club. Matamata scored 161 points and Cambridge J 53.
