WEDDING.
MILNE—HERBERT. WEDDING IN WELLINGTON. A Saturday bride, Betty Hamilton, youngest daughter of Sirs. Herbert and the late Dr. W. K. Herbert, was followed up the aisle of St. Paul's ProCatliedral by three attendants—her sister, Mrs. Charles Levin, as matron-of-honour, her cousin, Miss Mary Knox Gihner, and Miss Jessie Peacock—when she was married to Walter Spencer Glanville, son of Mrs. Glanville Milne and the late Dr. Glanville Milne, London. The wedding took place at half-past three in the afternoon, Canon Pereival James officiating, and the clmrch was packed with more than three hundred guests. Most effective decorations had been carried out in the chancel with palms and pink hydrangeas, and down the aisle there were hydrangeas placed at the foot of each pew. Mrs. Knox Gilmer had arranged the flowers in the clmrcli.
The bride, who was given away by i' her imcle, Mr. S. G. Gilmer, was most . becomingly gowned in cream sheer - cliiffon over satin, beautifully cut with r a. moulded bodice and very full skirt, s The skirt fullness came from two f panels gathered on each side in front 3 below the waistline, and at the back i was rucked for several inches from the 1 waist, sweeping into a very wide eircu--1 lar train. The bodice was buttoned t down the back with tiny covered j buttons and loops, and the long tight i sleeves were buttoned to the elbow. A r little ]>osy of orange blossom was 5 caught at the neck in front, and she . wore a. filmy cream tulle veil, very long, - to form* a second train, arranged to the t head with a coronet of orange blossom . buds and pearly leaves. An upstanding i frill of tulle formed a halo above the . coronet. She carried roses and other 1 cream-tinted flowers in her sheaf > bouquet. > The beautiful garden of Mrs. Her- , bert's home on the Terrace made a perfect setting for the reception, which ■ was held after the ceremony at the . church. . Mrs. Herbert was wearing a striking . frock of satin in a new black cherry , shade, with a high draped neckline. With it she wore a rope of pearls, and ' a. becoming picture liat of lace straw in . the same shade. Her "bouquet was of . roses. The bridgeroom's mother wore ; an ensemble of capri, nine georgette, the [■ linger-tip coat having diagonal pin - tucks. fSlie carried delphiniums in the , same shade of blue and her little toque, with eye-veil trimming, exactly matched , her frock.
Mrs. Knox Gilmer wore a dress and three-quarter length coat of brown and putty silk crepe patterned in broken cheeks, with a brown eire straw hat. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Harris, relatives o.' the bridegroom, and Mrs. Eden Brand (Scotland) were among the guests.
