AUCKLAND CONTROL BOARD. | > I CHAMPIONS CONGRATUIiATEB. PAPAKURA IN ROOPE ROOSTER. At the meeting of the Control Board of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, Mr. G. Grey Campbell presiding, all the senior teams nominated for the Roope Rooster, knock-out.

It was decided to admit Papakura senior B team to the competition and that no team could twice qualify for a bye. When the draw was made in the presence of club delegates Papakura gained the bye for the first round.

The senior reserve grade is to complete the championship on Saturday and the following week will start the Stallard Cup knock-out, which will be open to senior B teams. The chairman thanked the delegates for their enthusiastic co-operation and the play of the senior teams, which had contributed to a most successful championship. Tie heartily congratulated Manukau on their success, and said lie felt that the Roope Booster and other fixtures would provide line play for the rest of the season. Matters affecting the clubs were subsequently discussed with the delegates. Arising from a report, the City Rovers Club was asked for an explanation for the default of its reserve grade team on SaturNew Zealand Council advised that the Xi'wton appeal on behalf of A. Nathan was dismissed, and it was decided to formally advise the club. The Mount Eden Boys' Band wrote suggesting the staging of a burlesque match to help to raise funds to send tlie band to compete at the Wliangarei and Nelson contests.
