Putting accurately, i she lost the hook which had been appari ent in her drives previously. Half an hour later Miss Kay returned I a card of 78—39 cacli way—in partnership | with Mrs. Clements, whose score was 79. The New Zealander had some putting lapses on the home run. Mrs. Clements ! went out in 41 and came home in 38. Her ' seconds were astray on the outward | journey. [ Miss Horwell had to improve to a marked degree to qualify. She returned an excellent 80 after a faultless home run of 37, compared with 43 out. Miss Fleming played steady golf. She went out in 41 and came home in 40. Mrs. , Eullerton-Smith was slightly out of. touch. I Miss Rymill, South Australian cliam- | pion, went out in 42 and came home in 38. Mrs. Britten-Jones went out in 44 and came home in 38. She had putting lapses on the way out. The manager of the New Zealand team Mrs. Godby is delighted at the showing of the members, particularly Miss Horjll's effort in the second round. Their form suggests that three of the team will be in the final four on September 4. The draw for the first round of match play is as follows: — Mrs. Clements v. Miss Rymill. Miss Horwell v. Mrs. Negus. Mrs. Fullertbn-Smith v. Miss Bailey. Miss Helean v. Mrs. Britten-Jones. Mrs. Bettington v. Mrs. McKenzie. Miss Kay v. Mrs. Russell. Mrs. Robinson v. Miss_ Hutton. Miss Fleming v. Miss Kernott. The New Zealand players have entered for the centenary mixed foursomes championship.
