PENWOMEN'S CLUB.

. ORIGINAL WORK PRESENTED. A varied programme of original work was presented at a meeting of the Penwomen's Club held in the clubroonis last evening. The president, JVlrs. Carr-Bol-lett, presided and gave a short outline of the progress members had made in their original work during the paet year. A group of seven poems, written by Alice J. Greville, Joan Savage, Ivy Sinytheman, Winsome Whitehead, Violet Spurling, Adria Bush, Ethel Schmitt and Kathleen Teape, was presented by Rozella Bailey, Betty Page, Tes» CarteLloyd, Francis Cole, Mary Matthews and Leila Kattray. Miss Gertrude Richards gave a song, the music "being by Ethel Dunningham and the words by Gloria Rawlijison, and two further songs were presented by Ida Wa:lker and Ruby King, the music being by 0. R. Buchanan and the words by Theodora Bennett and Ivy Smytheman. The ,programme also included several original and clever sketches, one written by Joy Field, in which parts were taken by Joy Field and Maisie Carte-Lloyd; another by Gwynne Peacock, presented by Marjorie Yeatman and Desmond Locke; a humorous sketch written and presented by Helen Griffiths and a monologue written and present*! by ; Gwynne Peacock. In a play by Ethel Schmitt, parts were taken by Leila Rattray, Winifred Osborne, Kathleen Teape, Bruce McKinney, Edna Craig and Mervyn Rattray, and an excellent reception was accorded a play by Lilian Smith, in which the parts were taken by Mervyn Rattray, Desmond Locke. Joy Smith, Norman Browne and Harry Dutton.
