WAR WILL GO ON IN ABYSSINIA.
HOI YET CONQUERED.
Provinces Rising Against Oppressor. HAILE SILASSIE SPEAKS. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 11. Haile Silassle attended his first lunch in England when he was the guest of the League of Nations Union. Professor Gilbert Murray proposed the Emperor's health. Haile Silassie, in reply, said there was current an unfortunate tendency to consider that the League in. its present form was incapable of continued existence or of further action in the present war. He added that Abyssinians in Wollo, Clierelier and other occupied provinces, were rising against their oppressors, while the westenj third of Ethiopia was still under the Government of its lawful authorities.
This was not the moment for the abandonment of confidence in the League*. "Abyssinia is still unconquered, and the war goes on," said Mr. Herrouy, Ethiopian Foreign Minister, on his arrival in London, where he is to residue his post as adviser to the Emperor. "My Government still rules from Gore, in the west, where there are 10,000 well-armed warriors, and Ras Desta irfl the south has 1;3,000 men. The scattered troops from Ogaden are reforming. "Rains have immobilised the Italians, whose aeroplanes are useless owing to the low clouds, and whose roads also are useless. They are prisoners in their own garrisons. "The Abyssinian armies will resume their resistance in October, when the rains are over. It will be mountain warfare. One-third of the country is still intact." Haile Silassie will go to Vevev, on the north side of Lake Geneva, near Lausanne, next Wednesday. He will occupy his own chalet there. BADOGLIO RESIGNS. VICEROY OF ABYSSINIA.
