MORE WORKING THIS YEAR. An improvement in employment generally throughout the world is indicated by the returns of the International Labour Office for the first quarter of 1936, compared with the corresponding period of 1935. The number of registered unemployed decreased in most European countries, the British Dominions, and the United States. Of,the gold bloc countries France showed a slight decrease in the number of unemployed and Switzerland and Holland an increase. In the United States there were 12,626,000 unemployed in February, 1936, compared with 13,055,000 in February, 1035.
