"NO COMPLICATIONS."

INTOXICATION CHARGE. Appearing in the Police Court this morning before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., for being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor car in Wellesley Street on Saturday morning, Douglas Vaughan Craddock, aged 25, pleaded guilty. Sub-Inspector Fox said the circum--stances were not serious. Craddock pulled up in his car in Wellesley Street at 2.40 a.m., when a constable noticed . that he was in a state of intoxication. . Craddock was later examined by Dr. Lamb, who certified that he was not in a fit state to have charge of a car. "There were no complications or accidents and before pulling up Craddock was driving at a very moderate speed," said Mr. Fox. "He was not drunk." Mr. F. H. Haigh, who appeared for Craddock, said his client had an unblemished character. He had been to a pp.rty and after going to have some coffee he thought he was fit to drive, but evidently he was not. As the circumstances j were not at all serious in this acse, coun- . sel asked that Craddock be dealt, with leniently. A fine of £4 was imposed, Craddock's license to drive being suspended for • three months." 1 . .
