PARKING FOR CARS.

OLD STATION SITE. AREA TO BE FENCED. Early next week the Auckland City Council will commence to fence off practically the whole of the old railway station site as a preliminary step in the scheme to develop the area as a transport terminal, and also to enable it to reap some revenue from car parking fees. The site is at present in a fairly rough state, but it is being used extensively by motorists as a free parking area. The site will ultimately provide the requisite space and facilities for the , handling of buses and long-distance t transport and for the safety and con--5 venience of passengers, but in the meani time temporary work to the surface is r to be carried out with the object of : utilising the ground for the parking of . motor vehicles.
