TWO-WAY TRADE.
TASMANIA AND NEW ZEALAND. SYDNEY, May 20. The Tasmanian Minister of Agriculture, Mr. R. Cosgrove, who returned from New Zealand by the Wanganella to-day, said that as the result of his discussions with the Dominion Government the trade between Tasmania and New Zealand should be trebled within a year. "We have timber, carbide, copper and brass to sell to New Zealand," said Mr. Cosgrove, "and we can take from New Zealand certain types of wool, fertilisers, seeds and pine woods suitable for butter boxes. "I found that the New Zealand Government is taking the point of view that it will trade with any States that will buv from the Dominion. It must be a two-way trade. Ido not think New South Wales has any chance of getting her citrus fruits on to the New Zealand market." Mr. Cosgrove will attend an agricultural conference at Canberra to be opened to-morrow, as will Mr. William Taylor, New Zealand Trade Commissioner. The question of trade with the Dominion, is expected to be discussed.
