BADMINTON.

NEW CENTRAL CLUB FORMED. . As evidence of the increasing popularity of. badminton a new club has been formed under the control of the Central Badminton Club, with its headquarters in the Methodist ■Church Hall, Dominion Road. The new club is in the fortunate position of having two full-sized courts, and it is believed to be the only club in Auckland so favourably placed. Already 40 players have signified their intention of joining the club. The official opening ceremony will be held this evening, when it is anticipated that the Mayor of Mount Eden, Mr. T. McNab, and the president of the Auckland Badminton Association, Mr. J. Hyland, will be present.
