Nobie King won lUu juee Taj Akbar _ x tue onester Vase, both nine.ana a half events, tins season. Fay the Two xnousand Guineas, beating' Mahmoud by u short head. ; The Aga Khan won the jjeruy last season with Bahrain, and he uoids a strong hand in Mahmoud, Taj -iKuar and Bala JtLissar. The tirst year m which his candidates contested the jjerby, 1924, his elect, Diophon, was second favourite, and Salmon Trout an outsider. They ran unplaced, Salmon irout finishing well ahead of Diophon. l'he following year he relied solely on Zionist, who finished second to Manna. He was also represented in the Derby in 1926 and 192/, but his horses were not greatly fancied. In 1928 he ran Buland and Parwiz, who finished eighth and eleventh . respectively, and. in 1929 Le v oleur was well back in the field. His first success came in 1930, when Blenheim beat the Aga Khan's more, fancied colt, Rustom .Pasha, who, starting' second ' favourite at .9 to 2, was only eleventh. • Famine d'Api was the Aga Khan's con- .■ tender in 1931;" and, starting.;at 10 to 1, ~. f -jie finished a,moderate sixth; Two colts '. represented the* Aga Khan the> following year, Dastur and Firdaussi, and were second.' " * UnijtgfifHit respectively. Gißttfeiyan third rn 1933, with Felicitation seventh the same' " and theii'ih 1934 the, Aga Khan ran .* .three candidates for the first time. They were Alishah, Umidwar (who started second favourite) and Badruddin; but - .Windsor, Lad, owned by the Aga Khans countryman, the Maharaja of Rajpipla, proved too.good for■ them.; Last year,,the Aga Khaxf<fiagain rain three candidates, with happier results, , Bahrain. winning-,; with Theff'-fpurth and, Hairan seventh; WANGANUI NOTES. FOXTON CANDIDATES. -—-Y JUBILEE SONG'S PROSPECTS. • ; f ' jg _'X' -' (By Telegraph";— Special to "Star.") WANGANUI, Tuesday. The Wanganui' Jockey Club will have the dividend indicator in operation at the forthcoming winter meeting on June 20 and 23. The club has also decided to make arrangements for a local broadcast running description of the races. Peter Jackson is not engaged at Foxton, but wilftte seen out in the Raukawa Cup .. at Otaki. V Since his Tace at Marton Peter Jackson has . improved a lot' judging by the way he shaped ina gallop • over six furlongs this morning with Reipar. -He may 'not' be ready yet .to run out a mile and a quarter, but ;he .is Icertainly showing promise 'of makihg-a coine-back- ill' the' near future. Reipar, who is to run in the Moutoa Hack handicap at Foxton on Saturday, had a .'gallop over six furlongs this, morn- ' ing in company with Peter Jackson. They cut out the first quarter in under 255, and . the half mile in 49%5. From there on Reipar, drew away to finish some three lengths in front in 1.15 —a good gallop. The Greyspear gelding , must be very hard to beat on Saturday ii ridden to the 'best advantage. San-le-drim, the son of Chief Ruler— Bint, owned by Mr. F. Bristol, is in steady work. He is a big-topped sort, but is hitting out in promising style on the tracks. Midian appears to be getting back some of his old form, and F. Lind might win some money with the son of Weathervane at Wanganui next month. Had it not been for his saddle going to pieces at Marton Illawarra must have been very handy , at the finish of the steeplechase. He has gone on 'the right way since, and he must have good prospects in the cross-country event at Foxton on Saturday, as the company is not very strong. With a stronger rider up jubilee Sorig , would have won at Marton, and as that | race is said to have improved him he is likely to be proniinent in the Kebbel j Memorial Handicap at Foxton on Saturday. ,
