DROWNING FEARED.
CLOTHES ON RIVER BANK.
FORMER AUCKLAND RESIDENT
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CAMBRIDGE, this day.
\ married man, Mr. Harry Cropley. a'red about 4S years, has been missing since Saturday afternoon. Last night some clothes were found on the river bank near the Duke Street wharf and were identified later as his property.
It is feared that he went for a swim on Saturday and was drowned. Mr Croplev was a former Auckland resident, having bought a mercery business here five months ago. He left is boardinghouse at 8.30 am. on Saturday morning to go to his shop. He took his lunch with him, stating that lie was going to work at the shop all day. He was seen in the street on Saturday afternoon carrying a small ii-irccl His swimming costume is missin <» from his .boardinghouse. The sum of" £2 was found 111 his clothes. The missing mail's wife lives in Auckland, being the proprietress of a guesthouse. Mr. Cropley frequently went to Auckland for week-ends.
