NEW LYNN CROQUET CLUB.
The New Lynn Croquet Club held its annual At Home on the lawns on Thursday last. Despite unsettled weather conditions, there was a representative gathering of visitors and friends, players coming from the Henderson, Glen Eden, Avondale, Hallyburton Johnstone, Rocky Nook, Malvern and Ponsonby Clubs. The patroness, Mrs. C. F. Gardner, was present, and was attired in a black and white figured ensemble and black hat. She was received by the president, Mrs. H. Whyte, in floral marocain, relieved with beige, and hat to tone. A stall and tearoom did excellent business during the day. Prize-winners for progressive croquet were as follows: —Morning session:. A, Mrs. Mickleborough; hidden number, Mrs. Hutchison; consolation, Mrs. Johnstone; B, Mrs. Philips; hidden number, Mrs. Laurie; consolation, Mrs. Lucena. Afternoon session: A, Mrs. Hutchinson; hidden number, Miss Clark; consolation, Mrs. Ilyde; B, Mrs. Culter; hidden number, Mrs. Forbes-Dawson; consolation, Mrs. Carter.
