HOME BURNED.
POULTRY KEEPER'S LOSS. STORED EGGS DESTROYED. A two-roomed house, the property of Mr. H. S. Saunders, a poultry farmer, of O'Neill's Road, Swanson, was totally destroyed by fire about nine o'clock on Saturday evening. Mr. Saunders was feeding his poultry at the far end of the section on Saturday night when he saw smoke, and, thinking that his neighbour's property wus on fire, rushed to warn him. As he neared the house he found that the smoke was coming from his own place. He opened the door and found the whole interior in flames. As there was no water supply, Mr. Saunders and his neighbours could do nothing, and were forced to watch the destruction of all his property, including 200 dozen eggs, which were stored inside.
