FLAGS HALF-MASTED.

OBSERVANCE UNTIL TUESDAY. Flags will be flown at half-mast on all ships in the Royal Navy, the merchant marine and on Government and other buildings until Tuesday evening. Instructions concerning the procedure of the flying of flags during the period of mourning for the late King as far as Government buildings are concerned have been issued to the Chief Postmaster. After the proclamation was read on the ships of the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy on Wednesday, the White Ensign was hoisted "close up," but was lowered at sunset. Yesterday the flags were hoisted at half-mast, where they will remain each day until Tuesday, the day of the Royal funeral.
