AMAZING SURGERY.

New Zealander Gives Boy a

New Ear.

SACRIFICE BY GRANDMOTHER

(Received 1.30 p.m.) s LONDON, December 27. The world-famous New Zealand surgeon, Sir Harold Gillies, who will shortly become honorary plastic surgeon to the North Staffordshire Infirmary, recently interested himself in the case of a seven-year-old boy, Robert Price, who had suffered with a seriously deformed ear since birth.

Sir Harold suggested that the defect could be remedied if anyone were willing to sacrifice an ear. Robert's grandmother, who was aged 65, immediately volunteered.

The transference was carried out successfully.
