LATE CORPORAL McDOUGALL. . An impressive tribute to the esteem in -which the late Corporal Charles ("Scottie,") McDougall (24/1720), King's Corporal, who was a member of the staff at Parliament Buildings, was b£ld was paid'by the large assemblage at his funeral, which took place at the Soldiers' Cemetery at Karori, Wellington (states the "Dominion'.'). As a tribute of respect to their late comrade each one of the returned soldiers present placed a poppy on the coffin.
The Hon.- P. Fraser and Mr. Rl A. Wright. M.P., represented the Government, Lieutenant-Colonel S. O. Sandle, Sergeant-at-Arms, and Mr. J. Taylor, chief messenger, the staff,. and Mr. K. Calders, the Returned Soldiers' Association. The pall-bearers were: Mr, C. A. L. Treadwell, the late Corporal Mcbouaalfs officer and friend at the war, and Messrs. J. Leslie. W. Bedford and O. Hawkins, returned men who are messengers at the House.
