OBITUARY.

MRS. E. GOLDSWORTHY. The death has occurred of Mrs. Elizabeth Goldsworthy. a daughter of the late Mr. James Willetts, one of the old pioneers who arrived in Xew Zealand in the ship Westminster in 1542. Mrs. Goldsworthy, who was SS years old, was one of the Dominion's oldest born colonists. Her father settled in Epsom and there Mrs. Goldsworthy was born in IS4S. Later the family moved to Takapuna, and, in 1860, she married the late Mr. R. Goldsworthy. They settled at Mullet Point, where Mrs. Goldsworthy had since lived.

MR. B. McLAUCHLAN. After an illness lasting 15 months Mr. B. McLauchlan, who was well known throughout the Dargaville district and especially to visitors to the Waipoua Forest, has died at the Northern Wairoa Hospital. Mr. McLauchlan had been attached to the Forest Service for many years and was mainly responsible for the lay-out and upkeep of the camping sites and fireplaces in the district.
